B4006 - How do I run a video that is in a Directory 7 .exe file?

by - Joseph Ganci

I have a video file which is in .exe format (built from Director 7). How can I play it on Authorware?

If it's in .exe format, you'll need the JumpFile or JumpFileReturn functions in Authorware. Open a Calculation icon, then open the Functions dialog box (click the button on the toolbar that has the f(x) in it). Scroll down until you see JumpFileReturn, then read the description and use the path and file name of your Director file. What will happen is that Authorware will jump to the Director file. When the Director file is done, control will return to the Authorware app.
