1090 - How do I call an external PowerPoint file?

by - Joe Ganci

I want to use an autorun feature for a Powerpoint presentation that I'm distributing via cd. To do this I was wondering it it's possible to use Authorware to create a 'kick-off' exe file that would then make a call to my presentation file (.pps). Basically, I'd like the Authorware exe to open the .pps file and then close itself. Is this possible?

Try this:

JumpOut("", "myfile.pps")

This will open the default application for opening PPS files, and then AW will close itself (if it's in published mode). You would need the PowerPoint reader or PowerPoint itself on the system for this to work.
