1093 - Why can't I select the text tool in my Display icon?

I'm a beginner at Authorware and seem to be having silly problems adding text to Display icons. I pause the piece, double click on anywhere on the presentation window and the tools bar comes up but it won't let me select the text tool!!!

Is your Display icon a library link? If so, you can't make changes in the icon on the flowline. You must go to the library link to do that. An easy way to do that is to right-click on the Display icon on the flowline, choose the last option, Library Links, then click Find Original.
